C137, C163, C164 – Battery contactors for railway and industrial applications
Unidirectional single pole NO or changeover contactors or with magnetic blowout
C137
Battery contactor for Ith 50 A or Ith 40 A in railway applications
C137, C163 and C164 series contactors are suitable for handling DC loads in the range of 40 A up to 140 A for the most common coil voltages up to 120 V. The contactors have double-break contacts, a compact design, and function most reliably.
Version “C” are single pole NO contactors with magnetic blowout, whereas version “H” are single pole changeover contactors fitted with an additional galvanically isolated NC contact. The switching devices can be used as main or auxiliary contactors.
Features
- Compact design
- Double-break contacts
- Easy to replace main contacts
- Blowout magnets
- Standards IEC 60947, EN 50124, IEC 60077-1
- 2 coil versions:
- for operation with charger switched off
- for operation with or without charger
Special variant
- Stock items: Presented on this site are only stock items which can be supplied in short delivery time. Types for AC operation are available on special order: Replace version C with B (= NO contactor without blowouts) and version H with G (= changeover contactor without blowouts.
- Latching contactor C163 C/ xxBD, catalogue B164 (special variant)
- Single pole DC NO contactor with magnetic blowout C163 C/ xxBD series
- The change between the two stable states of contact, namely “main contact opened” and “main contact closed”, is accomplished by a short switching impulse of only 50 ms duration. Since both normal and operating position are stable, no further voltage is needed to hold the contacts in position.
- The advantage of this concept: No energy consumption during operation. This allows for saving a lot of energy compared with common NO contactors used in applications where the closed-circuit position is to be maintained for a long period of time.
- That is why our latching contactors are ideally suited for deep discharge protection of batteries in uninterruptible power supplies (UPS).
- If you need a special variant feel free to contact us Maybe the type of contactor you are looking for is among our many special designs. If not, we can also supply customized designs. In this case, however, minumum order quantities apply.
